Honour
We carry forward the reputation of a uniform. Every specialist behaves as if their former unit is watching — because, in spirit, it is.
Dossier 02 · About Us

Our Mission
Clearance first. Law always. Service before self.
We hire former Garud commandos who can work in accordance with the guidelines issued by the government that recruited them, trained them and made them Garud commandos. When a veteran holds every clearance that government requires, we open the door to meaningful work across the world — as a security specialist, close protection officer, self-defence specialist, trainer, consultant and more.
Our purpose is twofold. For veterans, we provide respected second careers that value their training, pay them fairly and never ask them to compromise their oath or their country's secrets. For clients and communities, we deliver security that is preventive, proportionate and professional — the kind that keeps people safe without drama.
This mission demands a particular culture. We do not glorify force. We recruit people who understand that the most effective protection is quiet: sound planning, early recognition of threats, calm communication and the confidence to de-escalate. Where force is ever lawfully necessary, it must be the minimum required, and always accountable.
Everything we do is framed by the law of the land — in India, where our organisation is rooted, and in every country where our specialists serve. Read more about how we operate on our Global Operations page, or explore eligibility for veterans.

A Landmark National Initiative
One of his landmark national initiatives is SAKSHAM – Sampoorna Aay Kar Suvidha Mission, a historic movement aimed at formalising India's informal economy by onboarding 85 crore individuals and 40 crore enterprises into the Income-Tax Return ecosystem by 2029.
SAKSHAM supports India's journey to become a USD 15 trillion economy. By bringing individuals and enterprises into the formal financial system, the mission aims to widen access to credit, strengthen financial identity and create a broader, fairer base for national growth.
The scale of the ambition reflects a consistent theme in Digant Sharma's work: build structured systems that include the many, not the few — and execute them with discipline.
Grassroots Impact
Through Torus Innotech Pvt Ltd and multiple foundations, Digant Sharma is implementing large-scale rural empowerment programmes focused on strengthening farm livelihoods, raising rural incomes and building long-term economic resilience in the communities that feed the nation.
His work across Maharashtra, Nanded, Kinwat, Mahur, Odisha and other states directly supports rural income growth, food security and economic resilience.
The philosophy behind this work mirrors the philosophy of Garud Commando Force: security is not only about guarding assets — it is about creating conditions in which people can live, work and prosper without fear.
The Torus Group Ecosystem
As the Founder, Chairman or President of multiple organisations, Digant Sharma has built an integrated ecosystem known as the Torus Group, which operates at the intersection of technology, agriculture, financial inclusion, social impact and national reforms.
…and other organisations across the Torus Group.
The Garud Legacy
To understand the people we hire, it helps to understand the force that shaped them. The Garud Commando Force is the special forces unit of the Indian Air Force. Its history — drawn here from public records and widely reported events — explains the calibre of the veterans who join us.
Garud Commando Force (this organisation) is an independent private entity and is not affiliated with the Indian Air Force. The timeline is provided as historical context only.
Militant attacks on air bases in Jammu and Kashmir underlined the need for a dedicated force to protect critical air assets.
The Indian Air Force formally raises the Garud Commando Force for airfield protection, special operations and combat search and rescue.
Garud personnel are among the forces who respond to the terrorist attack on Air Force Station Pathankot in January 2016.
Corporal Jyoti Prakash Nirala is posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peacetime gallantry award, for a 2017 counter-terrorist operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the evacuation of Indian nationals from Sudan, Garud commandos were reported to have secured a night landing at the Wadi Seidna airstrip — a textbook airfield-security mission.
Our Values
Values are only real when they cost something. These five shape who we hire, which assignments we accept and which we decline.
We carry forward the reputation of a uniform. Every specialist behaves as if their former unit is watching — because, in spirit, it is.
Government clearance first, local law always. We decline any assignment that cannot be delivered within the law.
Clients trust us with their movements, homes and families. Confidentiality is absolute and never used for promotion.
Fitness, first aid and skills are re-verified continuously. Past service earns an interview; current readiness earns a deployment.
Protection is a service to people. We de-escalate first, respect every culture and treat everyone with dignity.
Transparency
Important: Garud Commando Force is an independent private organisation. It is not the official website of, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by, the Indian Air Force, the Ministry of Defence or any government body. The name reflects the heritage of the veterans we employ.
We never request, accept or use classified information. Every candidate remains personally bound by their government's secrecy and post-service rules, and we structure our assignments so that those obligations are always respected.
